Roaming and network quality abroad

When you roam on an international operator's network, the quality may not be the same as you are used to on the BASE network. This depends, among other things, on the available network technologies, local network coverage, available speed and possible limitations that the local network operator has. Certain applications and information available to local users (e.g. local premium numbers) may also not be available on your device, for technical or legal reasons.

We work hard to establish agreements with operators in various other countries to ensure that as a BASE customer you experience a consistent quality level while roaming. In those agreements, we define conditions under which you can call, text and use mobile internet in areas where your home network is not available. Depending on the agreement, location and operator, the network quality may vary.

Certain network technologies (such as mobile calling via 4G (VoLTE), or mobile internet via 4G or 5G) may not be available in certain regions.

Want to know which technologies are available in a particular country?

Consult our indicative list  of available technologies in each European Union country (+ Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway) for every operator with which BASE has a roaming agreement. We update this information regularly, but please understand that it may not be entirely accurate and the situation may change at any time.
