PayByMobile: What is it and how does it work?

PayByMobile is a mobile payment method for digital purchases (apps, games, subscriptions, music, parking, …). It’s an easy way to pay online, available in many apps, websites and online shops. The amount you pay is added to your BASE bill (if you have a monthly plan) or deducted from your call credit (if you have a prepaid card).

Important:

  • To use PayByMobile, you first need to select it as a payment method in the app store or service you’re using.
  • Do you have a new monthly plan? PayByMobile is available after 90 days for purchases in the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, Microsoft Store and PlayStation Store. For other services, you can use PayByMobile immediately.
  • Did you take an additional number on your account? Contact us to enable PayByMobile for app store purchases on that number.
  • Do you have a prepaid card ? You can use PayByMobile right away, up to the amount of your available prepaid credit.

Selecting PayByMobile as a payment method

BASE works with several partners where you can pay via PayByMobile: Google Play Store, Apple App Store, Microsoft Store, PlayStation Store, and also services like Netflix and 4411. The activation steps depend on the partner. Choose yours below and follow the instructions.

  1. Go to play.google.com and click your profile icon.
  2. Click Payments and subscriptions > Payment methods > Add a payment method.
  3. Follow the on-screen steps to add a payment method to your Google account.

  1. Go to your iPhone settings.
  2. Tap the Apple ID.
  3. Select Payment & Shipping > Add Payment Method.
  4. Select Mobile Phone.

  1. Log into the Microsoft Store.
  2. Click Payment and billing > Payment options.
  3. On the screen, select Add a new payment method.
  4. Select Mobile billing and enter the required details.

  1. Log into the PlayStation Store.
  2. Click your online ID > Manage payments > Add a payment method.
  3. Add PayByMobile as payment method.

Setting a limit amount

You can always set a monthly limit for PayByMobile purchases between €0 and €200. The default limit is €125.

The maximum amount per purchase is €50 and can’t be increased. This limit is in place to help keep your payments secure, in line with industry standards for mobile payments. If you want to pay more than €50, choose a different payment method.

Where do I set or change my limit?

  • In the My BASE app: go to your mobile product overview, open Out-of-plan limits & blockings and select Limit for third-party services.
  • In My BASE on the website : go to Mobile, open Usage limits and select Manage your usage for third-party services.

PayByMobile in the My BASE app

With the My BASE app, you can manage PayByMobile anywhere: view your purchases, see past payments and upcoming transactions, adjust your limit, bock or unblock PayByMobile.

Blocking PayByMobile

  • In the My BASE app if you have a mobile plan
    Go to your mobile product overview, tap Out-of-plan limits and blockings, then select PayByMobile and block it.
  • In the My BASE app if you have a prepaid card
    Go to your mobile product overview, tap Manage plan, then Limit and blockings and select PayByMobile and block it.
  • In My BASE on the website, go to Mobile, open Blocking, select PayByMobile and block it.
