What does "Third party services" or "Collected for third parties" mean on my invoice/bill?

You will find the following categories on your invoice/bill:

  • Collected by third party
  • Amount to be collected on behalf of a third party

These services are offered by external suppliers via special numbers (070, 0900 etc.), SMS, MMS and digital internet services. They set the tariffs. BASE just collects the amount (incl. VAT) and transfers the money to them.

Examples are:

  • Downloading logos, ring tones, games, applications
  • Voting via your mobile phone (via TV/radio programmes etc.)
  • Purchasing an SMS ticket for De Lijn

Subscribing to third-party services

To receive messages from some services, you must subscribe. You can activate this service via the internet or by sending an SMS to the short number from your mobile phone.

Opting out for third-party services

Do you want to block these messages? Then text STOP to the short number concerned.

Do you have questions about a service, or do you dispute the charges for it? Then contact the supplier concerned. 

Blocking third-party services

Do you want to block third-party services? Then contact our customer service:

  • Via your customer zone: Go to My messages and fill in the contact form. Be sure to specify the series of short or special numbers you want to block.
  • By phone: Call our customer service on 1999 (from another phone: 0486191999).
