« spammers » always operate in the same way: they send messages that are composed of random numbers that precede the 048x code. The chain starts as soon as one person transfers the text they received to their contacts.
tips 'n' tricks
Some clues to alert your suspicion:
If you receive a message that doesn’t respect your language preferences. BASE always sends you a text in your own language.
If the message contains obvious spelling or grammar mistakes. BASE would never allow the basic rules of spelling or grammar to be broken.
If the promotional offer is nowhere to be found on the official BASE website.
Beware of all fake messages! They are not sent by BASE and their content is totally false. Keep your eyes peeled!
